PFC HT-500
RPS PART NUMBER C103595
CARBON ADSORBER UNIT

The PFC HT-500 is an economical highly portable carbon adsorber (HEGA) for nuclear applications. The adsorber utilizes Nuclear Grade activated carbon which results in a highly efficient adsorber for removal of airborne radioiodine (Iodine-131).

Adsorber residence time:

  • 0.286 second residence time at 500 cfm flow, pressure drop of 0.60in.wg
  • 0.125 seconds residence time at 1140 cfm flow, pressure drop of 1.59 in.wg.

Plastic framed adsorber is less costly and lighter in weight than metal frame alternatives and meets ASME NQA-1 QA program requirements for nuclear facilities. An upstream MERV 8 prefilter reduces dust loading on the adsorber.

  FEATURES:

  • Highly mobile Hand-truck design with large wheels facilitates transport.
  • 304 stainless steel frame and plenums.
  • Inlet and outlet slide gates allow isolation of carbon during storage.
  • Gages: 0-3” Prefilter and 0-5” HEGA, monitor pressure drop across each stage.
  • Prefilter: 24” x 24” x 2” Farr 30/30
  • HEGA: 24” x 24” x16”, (6) 2" deep beds, dual gasketed, high impact plastic.
  • Operates in vertical or horizontal orientations.
  • HEGA retention system allows fast easy replacement. Side door for slide out/in prefilter replacement.
  • Nominal dimensions: 50” high x 33” wide x 33” long. Wt. approximately 245 lb.
